Rules and Regulations

Arrival and Collection

Mallusk Community Playgroup will commence each morning at 9.00am and the entrance door will not be open until this time, due to insurance purposes.

On Monday to Thursday the playgroup session will finish at 1.00pm and on Friday the session will finish at 11.30am.
Children should be collected from the setting only by parents, those with parental responsibility or persons authorised to collect the child.  Unless they are the parents, persons authorised to collect children should be 18 years of age and over.

Children will not be released to brothers or sisters, under the age of 18 even though parents are sitting in the car outside the settings.
Children should be collected promptly at the end of each session.  It is important that all children are collected on time as this can cause stress to a child.
Children are not insured after each playgroup session has finished.

The health of your Child

Please do not send children into playgroup if they are unwell.  Ensure that you let a staff member know of any serious illness.
Refer to section in this booklet on Guidelines on Childhood illnesses.
If you child is sick or on holiday when the playgroup is in session, the fees for that period are still to be paid, unless the child is hospitalised.
The playgroup has policies and procedures in place which have been guided by The Early Years Organisation.  You have been given copies of some of the important policies, please read these and keep for reference.  For our full list of policies  follow the link below.
Policies and PROCEDURES
Please do not allow children to bring in their own toys to playgroup.  This can result in disagreements between children and toys may get broken.
Our Resources

Healthy Eating

Each child should be supplied with a healthy lunch that is stored in a lunch box and labelled with your child’s name.  Their lunch is stored in the refrigerator each morning for health and safety reasons and these should be clearly labelled, individually with your child’s name.  Playgroup cannot heat any food up for any child.
Please do not allow children to bring sweets or chewing gum into playgroup.  Again, this can cause disagreements amongst children.  Milk, water and a healthy snack are provided for the children during snack time.  Water is always available.
SNACK AND LUNCH

These will be kept on your child’s peg.
